PIRAEUS — Olympiacos have been dealt a significant blow ahead of a crucial stretch of the EuroLeague campaign, with Evan Fournier expected to miss around 20 days through injury. The French guard has suffered an extensive bruise to his left shoulder and a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Fournier will miss Friday's EuroLeague matchup against Fenerbahçe, and his availability for the EuroLeague clash against Olimpia Milano on 30 October is also in doubt. The dual injury leaves Olympiacos without one of their key perimeter options for at least the next three weeks.
His absence comes alongside that of Tyler Dorsey, who remains away from the team while awaiting a club decision following the controversy surrounding his social media post. Head coach Georgios Bartzokas will therefore have a shorter rotation during an important part of the campaign.
Olympiacos are reportedly more active in the market after the Dorsey situation, with Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and John Poulakidas among the names monitored as potential reinforcements.
