LAS VEGAS — Floyd Mayweather has confirmed his intention to return to the ring for two separate contests, targeting an exhibition match against Mike Tyson in December followed by a professional rematch with Manny Pacquiao in 2027.
Speaking on The PBD Podcast, the 49-year-old American addressed the status of the long-discussed Pacquiao bout, which had previously faced delays. Mayweather stated that he is guaranteed $110 million for the rematch, dismissing earlier financial proposals that offered equal pay for both fighters. "I said, 'Absolutely not. Go back to the drawing board, get your numbers right, and when you’ve got your numbers right, then come talk to me,'" Mayweather explained regarding the breakdown of initial negotiations with the broadcaster.
The proposed rematch with Pacquiao, which was originally slated for a professional return, remains in flux as the Filipino fighter has been linked to a potential appearance on the card featuring Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Mayweather, who retired from professional boxing in 2017 with a 50-0 record, maintains that the Pacquiao encounter is still set to proceed in 2027 following the exhibition with Tyson.
