CARDIFF — Mike Tyson has offered his prediction for the upcoming heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, which is set to take place at the Principality Stadium on 11 December. The winner of the contest will secure the WBA ‘super’ title, with both fighters aiming to become a three-time world champion.
While acknowledging Joshua’s speed, Tyson remains confident in Fury’s ability to manage the pressure of the bout. Speaking with DJ Whoo Kid, Tyson stated, “Tyson’s always been known to handle pressure well, but it’s going to be interesting to watch this fight. I know Joshua’s going to be throwing faster punches, but his punches can’t be faster than Deontay Wilder’s.”
Beyond the immediate rivalry, Tyson expressed a clear preference for Joshua’s future path, adding, “I wanna see him [Joshua] fight Deontay.” While a potential meeting with Wilder remains a subject of discussion, Joshua must first navigate his long-awaited encounter with Fury. The build-up to the match has seen analysts weigh Fury’s recent performances against Joshua’s recovery from two opening-round knockdowns during his July victory over Kristian Prenga.
