LONDON — Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig will ride for Uno-X Mobility for the next two seasons as the 31-year-old Dane seeks to find herself again after a difficult two-year spell with Canyon-SRAM. The former Tour de France Femmes stage winner and veteran of 15 Grand Tours is the fourth new addition to the Norwegian squad for 2027, bringing her climbing talent and attacking style to a team refocusing on stage races.
Uttrup Ludwig enjoyed her most successful period during five seasons with the FDJ programme, winning stage 3 of the 2022 Tour de France Femmes and the overall title at the Tour of Scandinavia that same year before claiming bronze for Denmark in the road race at the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow. Her final podiums with FDJ-SUEZ came with a stage win at the Tour Down Under, third in the Deakin University Road Race and third on the uphill finish into Urbino on stage 4 of the Giro d'Italia Women. She finished sixth on general classification at the Tour of Britain Women last year and eighth this season.
"The last couple of years have been difficult in many ways, so it means a lot to me to step into an environment where I feel a sense of calm and a real belief in what we can achieve. Uno-X seems incredibly professional in everything they do, and that gives me the confidence to find myself again and build towards my highest level," she said in a team statement on Monday. "I am incredibly excited to put on the Uno-X jersey. In a way, it feels like coming home to my Scandinavian roots." The Dane, who began her career as a teenager with Continental teams in Denmark and Germany before joining the Women's WorldTour in 2020, has long been regarded as one of the peloton's most charismatic climbers.
Anna Badegruber, head of sports at the Uno-X Mobility team, said: "She is a great climber with a good punch and a real fighting spirit, and she will strengthen our team. She has the drive, motivation and dedication to become the best version of herself, and her work ethic aligns really well with Uno-X. We really believe we can take the next step together and race for great results." Uttrup Ludwig joins compatriot Sitje Weitze Antvorskov, 22, who will make her WorldTour debut on a two-year deal, 19-year-old Norwegian Oda Aune Gissinger on a four-year contract, and Spanish climber Usoa Ostolaza Zabata — fourth overall at La Vuelta Femenina — who signed for three seasons in September.
