MONTREAL — Giulio Ciccone said he feels sorry for the result at the World Championships in Montreal, stating Italy deserved a medal but he had nothing left to give on the day.
"It was a very difficult race tactically, and you cannot follow everyone," Ciccone said. The Italian described the elite men's road race as tactically demanding, acknowledging it was impossible to cover every move in the selective contest.
After the disappointment in Montreal, Ciccone said he is turning his attention to the European Championships and Il Lombardia. His comments followed Brandon McNulty Ends 33-Year US Drought With Worlds Win in Montreal.
