VICENZA — German allrounder Liane Lippert (Movistar Team) captured the final one-day race of the 2026 elite women's season at Veneto Women with a late solo charge atop the punishing Monte Berico climb in Vicenza. Lippert stopped the clock at 2:39:17 over 106 kilometres, finishing four seconds clear of Loes Adegeest (Lidl-Trek) with local favourite Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) six seconds back in third.
After a flurry of early attacks the race settled, with Uno-X Mobility doing much of the work on the front. More than half the distance had passed before a dangerous move of six riders edged clear, including 2026 Trofeo Alfredo Binda winner Karlijn Swinkels (UAE Team ADQ) and Giro dell'Emilia winner Alessia Vigilia (Uno-X Mobility). Movistar and Lidl-Trek kept the gap in check at no more than 35 seconds, and with 20 kilometres remaining the peloton were still compact, though riders were steadily shedding from the rear on the relentlessly hilly finale.
The decisive selection came shortly after the second and final descent of the Arcugnano climb, when an eight-rider group forged clear. It contained Italian national champion Longo Borghini alongside three teammates — Mavi García, Eleonora Gasparrini and Swinkels — while Movistar were well represented by Lippert and Marlen Reusser, second last year ahead of Gasparrini. Noemi Rüegg (EF Education-Oatly) and Adegeest completed the move, which held a 30-second advantage inside the final five kilometres to ensure the winner would come from the front.
Lippert then delivered the winning solo move on the short ascent to Monte Berico to secure her first triumph since the Vuelta CV Féminas one-day race in February. Eleonora Camilla Gasparrini finished fourth at seven seconds, Rüegg fifth at 14 seconds and García sixth at 23 seconds, with Reusser seventh at 25 seconds, as the eight dominated the top positions in what was the penultimate race of the 2026 women's calendar.
