HINWIL — The Audi Formula 1 team has revealed plans for its long-term development centered on a new 'campus' near the existing factory in Hinwil, Switzerland. The proposal outlines a major expansion on Zurichstrasse, positioning the Swiss site as the core of Audi's Formula 1 operations for the coming decade.
"Elements of the new Campus on Zurichstrasse became operational in summer 2026, with the full development scheduled for completion in 2030," the team said in a statement. The phased approach means portions of the campus are already in use, while construction continues toward full completion at the end of the decade as outlined in the team's statement on the project.
Hinwil has been the team's base since Peter Sauber founded his eponymous team using Hinwil as a base, a history that continues as the operation transitions to Audi. The campus plan builds on that foundation, keeping the team rooted in Switzerland while providing expanded facilities for its Formula 1 program through 2030 and beyond.
