LEEDS — Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck a second-half equaliser as Leeds held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road, extending Manchester United's winless run to six matches for the first time since 2019.
Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for the visitors after meeting an excellent cross from Youri Tielemans, having earlier been denied by a header and seen another opportunity go unconverted before persevering to find the net. Leeds levelled through Calvert-Lewin, who controlled Tarik Muharemovic's header and applied a strong finish, after the defender had earlier threatened with a near-post header that almost put Leeds in front.
Calvert-Lewin was rated highest with 8 out of 10 after growing into the contest following a subdued start, with one first-half header wide and another straight at Senne Lammens. For Leeds, James Trafford earned 7 for racing 30 yards from his box to clear and offering assurance in possession, while Nico Elvedi, Muharemovic, Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson also scored 7. For Manchester United, Lammens, Harry Maguire, Andrey Santos, Carlos Baleba, Tielemans and Mbeumo each scored 7, while Lisandro Martinez — cheered by United fans and booed by Leeds supporters despite inflammatory comments beforehand — scored 6 before being replaced at the break by Noussair Mazraoui, who produced a vital injury-time block.
The draw leaves Manchester United still searching for a first win in six Premier League fixtures, while Leeds take a valuable point at home. Bruno Fernandes was booked for a late tackle on Muharemovic after overhitting a free-kick out for a throw, and Ethan Ampadu was fortunate to avoid a card for an early late tackle on Mbeumo as both sides pushed for a winner that never arrived.
