LAS VEGAS — Ismael Bonfim has been released from the UFC following a difficult weekend at the Meta APEX. The 30-year-old Brazilian was removed from the promotion's roster after suffering a first-round knockout loss to Francisco Prado during the preliminary portion of UFC Vegas 122.

The defeat was compounded by a significant weight-cutting issue, as Bonfim arrived 7.5 pounds over the limit for the match. This incident marked his third weight miss during his tenure with the promotion, which also included one fixture cancelled due to similar weight-related complications.

Bonfim concludes his UFC career with a promotional record of 2-5. His recent form saw him suffer four consecutive stoppage losses. Prior to his departure, Bonfim addressed his situation on social media, stating: “There are no excuses, no shame, and certainly no reason to give up. My story doesn’t end here.”
