DOHA — The UFC will return to Qatar on Nov. 21 with former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka facing undefeated Navajo Stirling in the main event, as the promotion revealed nine official fights on Tuesday. UFC Qatar will broadcast live on Paramount+, with tickets going on sale Oct. 9.
Prochazka returns looking to rebound from a loss to current light heavyweight champion Carlos Ulberg. After Alex Pereira vacated the belt to move to heavyweight, the UFC matched Prochazka and Ulberg for the vacant title, with Ulberg scoring a first-round TKO to claim the throne. Stirling arrives for the biggest fight of his career riding a six-fight UFC winning streak with three notable finishes, and after already taking out one former champion, he will look to add another massive name to his résumé.
The co-main event features former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling continuing his run at featherweight against rising star Kevin Vallejos. Sterling is 3-1 since moving to 145 pounds and last competed in April, earning a decision victory over Youssef Zalal. Vallejos gets the biggest opportunity of his career in Qatar, entering off recent wins over Giga Chikadze and Josh Emmett, with a victory over Sterling representing his biggest statement yet.
UFC Qatar takes place Nov. 21, with the promotion confirming nine bouts so far for the card. Registration for tickets is open ahead of the Oct. 9 on-sale date.
